Jeff Cafe Limited

Wellington Central, Wellington

Rating: 1

We ate dinner here in April 2024

Kung pao chicken

Orange beef

Sometimes, our quest to bring you raw unfettered reviews takes us to grand locations. And other times, it takes us to the cold unforgiving lobby of an apartment building with non stop foot traffic of pizza-carrying residents. We didn't know what to expect when we saw Jeff Cafe. It looked closed, and the name gave us no clues.

Turns out Jeff serves Chinese food and is much more popular than one might expect. It's small, being a lobby, and only had 5 tables, but 4 of them were full. We also saw 3 takeaway orders during our dining experience.

Why other people were eating at Jeff Cafe we weren't sure, as it clearly wasn't because the food was good. The orange beef, a real favourite of the Fee-Rex, was the worst we've ever had. The meat was clearly ancient, was tough, and very thickly cut. The kung pao chicken was inoffensive but forgettable. We scoffed down our meals then got the hell out of Jeff's frigid ice cave.
