Cheesy woodfired garlic bread with balsamic vinegar and pesto

Calamari with passionfruit sweet chilli dipping sauce

Scotch fillet, kumara mash, spinach, stout jus

Fried chicken burger with chips and aioli

Another excellent meal at Brew Union. The garlic bread was something else, and much more of a pizza bread than a normal loaf. We were pleasantly surprised by the passionfruit sauce that came with the calamari, and the calamari itself was also delicious and not chewy at all. The fried chicken burger was superior in taste but inferior in structural integrity to the beef burger we had on the previous visit. The steak paled in comparison to the other meals but was still good. Last time we were here, we were remiss in not trying a beer. The Swamp Juice was fruity and hoppy - a good beer.

Pumpkin stuffed with ricotta, spinach, sundried tomatoes, and rice

Great cocktail list, we had four different cocktails between us and could have tried more. The fried cauliflower was delish, as was the burger, if a bit salty. The pumpkin came with a warning: "this is a lot of pumpkin" and while this is true, it's not a bad thing.
